DEVLOG 6 - TUESDAY, JULY 4th, 2023


Two Fridays ago I almost lost the whole project, due to the some GitHub LFS error, that somehow corrupted even my previous back-ups, but after a whole day of trying to fix it up, I succeded to bring back a four-day old backup, which I continued to work on.

Meanwhile I was playing with terrain textures, trees, river, and other props on the level. Also I finally fixed glitching in the lock-on system, after two-days of trying to see and test where the problem in my code was.

Eventually I just needed to switch on Cinemachine camera system from 'Smart Update' to 'Late Update' in settings and now it works. Named the system "Cat-sense system," because it can predict the predator or prey from long distance.

Besides all that, while also figuring how to set up scene lighting, so that gameplay can work in 60fps even on my low-end laptop with integrated graphics card, I added a catnip orb collection system, together with player-follow script on defined close distance, sound and particle system on player when orbs are collected and that it shows in UI, how many orbs the player collected.
